Where in Montana Do We Source These Sapphires

Let’s go back to the very beginning. Sapphires were first discovered in Montana, USA way back in 1865 by early gold prospectors who originally overlooked them, simply thinking they were pale colored pebbles with little to no value. They would soon learn how valuable they were, which resulted in Montana becoming known as the Treasure State with its many mineral reserves.

Ethically-Sourced + Conflict Free

Montana Sapphires are found in the Rock Creek District Of Montana. Here at Alexis Russell, we only work with raw and natural sapphires, meaning none of them are heat-treated or highly-cut/polished and are left in their natural state.

We love working with Montana Sapphires because they are perfect for the modern bride looking for some color. Just like diamonds, rubies and emeralds, sapphires are classified as precious gemstones, and rank a nine on the Mohs scale of hardness, making it a great option for an alternative engagement ring or an everyday piece of jewelry.
